Nikola Tesla, one of the most brilliant inventors in History, was a Serbian- American inventor, electric engineer, mechanical engineer, and the person best known for his contributions to the design of the modern alternating current (AC) electricity supply system. He was quite a visionary and a legend at his time but he always was a step behind his competitor, “Thomas Alva Edison”, in Spite of his advanced inventions.
Both being prominent and successful, “what might be the reason for one of them to lag behind”?
The reason was the difference in their entrepreneurial skills. Having an innovative mind is not sufficient in this modern era people need to forge themselves in various skills to be successful. One such important skill is entrepreneurship.
Entrepreneurship is a complex combination of ideas, innovation, dedication, and planned implementation. In simpler words, it is a stepwise process for the implementation of a proper idea. Entrepreneurship should be highly advantageous for the upcoming fresh ideas from the students. It helps students to develop many useful skills like thinking skills, research skills, critical and creative thinking. Taking up entrepreneurship at a young age helps them to organize their ideas and work for the root cause and at the same time buildup their career. It is not always the academics that build a student’s brain. Sometimes it is even important to learn skills out of the box. Innovation dwells in the imagination. A student must possess the qualities of innovation and creativity. It builds up a persons’ character and identity. An individual must mark his/her significance in society. Innovation in education encourages the students to explore, research, and use all the tools to uncover something new. It involves a different way of looking at problems and solving them. Innovation improves education too. It compels students to use a higher level of thinking to solve problems. The creativity of a person depends on the capability of his/her imagination.
We are all familiar with the phrase SMART WORK IS BETTER THAN HARD WORK. This exactly highlights the necessity of creativity in a student. The fresher ideas and creative concepts we get, the more prosperous society will get. Every person doesn’t need to view the world from the same point of view. So in the same way, a single problem can be visualized from various angles which would result in several unique solutions. It helps students to ponder on their weaknesses and find the changes needed to make their concepts better. Welcoming young minds to entrepreneurship develops their initiative and helps them to be more creative and self-sustainable in whatever sector they undertake. Every individual indeed has something or the other hidden talent in them that could find a way for all the problems prevailing in the society. All you need to do is, be your boss, dig yourself and explore the whole new world inside you. Wonder could be made in this world of yours. Most universities in foreign countries have implemented the skills for entrepreneurship as a part of their curriculum to produce standard and highly intellectual brains into society which has a very significant impact. Thus, if a student acquires all these skills from a basic level in their university courses, it would be very helpful for their career and would offer them a straight highway towards their destination.
